When I was learning to draw, we were taught that you always did everything on one sheet of paper - sketches were on their own, the final product was done on one and you drew lightly until you got it where you needed it to be, and the eraser was your best friend.

Learning to draw digitally has been a challenge. I've had to relearn and transfer skill between photo editing and drawing, which isn't easy. Convincing a stubborn brain to transfer skills doesn't come easy.

I'm learning though. I've got a portrait I've done digitally (90% on the iPad believe it or not) and it looks damned good. But it's a slow process.

I also learned you didn't trace to learn things. Evidently that's now recommended. It was learn from drawing what the teacher drew...
Ah how things change.
